LGBTQIA+: a rainbow of stories

What do we really see when we read the acronym LGBTQIA+?
Often only letters. Maybe some definitions like lesbian or gay. We read stories into it. Like that of Lucia, bookseller, talkative. Or that of Tania, tough Tuscan translator. Or that of Giacomo, globetrotting journalist. For the Centro Arcobaleno, an anti-discrimination centre for sexual orientation and gender identity, we turned the acronym LGBTQIA+ into a story about pride, listening, inclusion. This campaign, promoted by Arcigay Varese and financed by UNAR, the National Anti-Racial Discrimination Office, is dedicated to them, and to all of us, to raise awareness among those who do not know or do not want to know, to welcome those who feel excluded, to say that the Centro Arcobaleno is there to listen to everyone's stories.

Video and You Tube shorts to give voice to all, from L to A

The beating heart of our story is the video published on the Centro Arcobaleno's YouTube channel, re-launched in the short formats of YouTube Shorts, on the social pages and in the news of the daily newspaper Varesenews.it. The sixty-second video is a celebration of the campaign's creative concept: behind the acronym LGBTQIA+ there are not just definitions, but stories. The editing, made by Bedeschi Film Milano with music by Riccardo Cannea and Andrea Sartirani of MusicProduction, and the voice of Andrea Cecchi, is deliberately incisive, strong and proud, because pride is one of the values that characterises our story.

Out of home, inside the stories

The campaign took its messages to places of passage, where gazes cross every day: bus shelters and bus stops. And then again, among the people, on the banners displayed during the events in which Arcigay Varese participates and meets the community.

Social media and radio releases

The social channels of Arcigay and Centro Arcobaleno amplify the message of the campaign with posts and reels to reach the LGBTQIA+ community, stimulate their pride and sense of belonging.
With a 30" radio release, produced by Music Production with the voice of Andrea Cecchi and promoted on Spotify, the campaign also reaches those who do not know, those looking for answers, those who perhaps have never had the courage to ask questions.
